One day bushcraft experience in the woods
The day starts with learning about the fundamentals of fire and how to use a primitive bow drill to create a camp fire.
Next, you and your team will learn the basic skills in greenwood carving and how to use tools such as knives and axes safely.
Armed with these newly acquired skills, your next task is to make your lunch over an open fire. You'll be given a variety of ingredients and seasonal game - the rest is up to you.
After lunch you'll be introduced to the art of natural cordage - how to make ropes and strings using natural fibres. Plus you'll be introduced to basic knots and how to construct a shelter.
The final task of the day is to complete a team challenge using the skills you've just learned.
The benefits of a day's bushcraft
On one level, you'll take part in a day in the countryside learning new skills. But at a deeper level, you'll have taken part in a structured session designed to build your team's skillsets and build confidence. For managers, you'll be able to identify leadership skills and potential that may not come to light in your usual work environment.
And if used as a recruitment and training tool this can help ensure you are bringing the right people into your team and organisation.
